Description
This test was a culmination of everything we learned through algebra 2 in the first quarter. There were questions on determining which graphs represent functions and the domain and range of certain relations. We were also tested on systems of equations (elimination, substitution, and graphing). We were also tasked with graphing lines in y-intercept form and in standard form. Writing the equation of lines in slope intercept form with the given information. Word problems were also a big part of the test worth a lot of points, they were mainly focused on substitution/elimination, and equations in standard and slope intercept form with equations.
Reflection
I feel that this assignment addressed my Thinking and Problem Solving skills because through the test I was faced with many problems and some of them I was not confident in solving. It required me to think and problem solve and try different ways to get the problem right.
From this assignment I am most proud of the fact that I got 100%. I feel proud of the fact that I got a good grade because of the numbers of time I spent studying for this test. I also felt that I spent a lot of time understanding the concepts of the unit.
I developed my 21st century skill of Thinking and Problem Solving during this test because it was the first real algebra 2 test this year, and I feel that it gave me a better idea of what future tests in this class would look like. I believe that every test I take I get to practice my problem solving skills and enhance my test taking abilities.
The most difficult thing about completing this task was the word problems, because I changed my answer right before the test was over, I spent a while contemplating that question, so that was a major challenge for me.
I can’t really improve on this work because I got everything right.
This test related to what I have learned in the past because for the whole quarter so far we have been learning about the subject on the test, and have gone through many quizzes and learning steps along the way. This was the end assessment of our knowledge regarding these algebra 2 concepts, so I used all of my knowledge from things I had learned in the past.
I can apply this test to future learning because with each new algebra 2 unit we learn more detailed and complicated concepts, but we still use the basis of the rest of our units. So I will be able to carry on the knowledge from this test to my future unit tests, along with the PSAT, SAT, and ACT, which test many algebra 2 concepts.
