Description
This project reflection covers the first unit exam in my college dual credit, asynchronous course Environment and Ecology. This exam was on 3 long units that we learned in 3 weeks. The exam was taken online and we were given one hour and 10 minutes to take the exam. There were many short answer and essay questions and then a fair share of multiple choice questions, including one extra credit question. I studied for the week before this exam and was rewarded with a grade of 50/50.
Reflection
I feel that this exam represents my information skills because I participated in an exam that would usually be completed in a classroom on paper. Information skills are skills that relate to the use and understanding of technology and I feel that I have developed my technological skills through dealing with the college website and navigating a fully online course. Through asynchronous studying, learning, listening to lectures, and actually taking the exam, I have been practicing formal use of technology to participate in a necessary course.
From this exam I am most proud of the fact that I received the grade of 50/50. I am also proud of some of my essay response answers. I feel that I was very prepared for this test, and that was reflected in my performance.
The most difficult thing about this exam was completing the entire exam in the time frame given. I was just fast enough to finish my sentence on the extra credit portion before it cut me off, and I did not even have enough time to go back and check my answers. In the next exam I will prepare to move faster earlier in the exam so I can pace my time better.
I feel that this exam relates to what I have learned in the past because I have taken environmental courses before so some of the content in this exam felt familiar and was probably easier for me to grasp because I had vague previous knowledge.
I feel that one thing I could have improved on when taking this exam was my time management so I could have had time to go back and reevaluate the answers I was iffy about. Next time, I will also be sure to rewatch the video lectures my teacher provides before the exam so I can be further prepared for the fast in depth questions on the exam.
This exam relates to what I will learn in the future because it covered unit one in my environment and ecology class. So, continuing in this course we will relate back to the concepts on the exam, which is why, having such an wholistic understanding of the concepts is ideal.
