Description
This assignment was a presentation in a junior seminar that we were tasked with making. It was supposed to highlight our progress on our Junior project so far. Because Simona and I are doing our Junior project together, we made a joint slideshow for our progress presentation. In the presentation we had to show our goals, our steps already met, our timeline, and more. Our junior project is based around providing free accessible sexual health resources for students at KCS.
Reflection
I feel that this assignment addresses my Self Directional 21st Century Skill because, on its own, the junior project is very self-directional in the way that each project is unique to the student, and the teachers are just there for guidance. This progress presentation was a small aspect in the timeline and documentation of the junior project, so during the making of the presentation we documented all of our steps all by ourselves, and we made big decisions on our own.
From this assignment, I am most proud of our progress thus far on the junior project. We have met some challenges along the way, and we have tried our best to problem-solve and work through these difficulties, all while making significant progress on our project. I feel that we are very set up this far, and we have done well with following the assignments and steps, which I am proud of.
With this assignment, I developed my self-directional skills in the way that I am constantly figuring things out and jumping over hurdles that I have never come across before with the junior project. Organizing all of our accomplishments so far into a progress presentation tested my self-directional skills to the maximum, but it gave me a boost of confidence when I was able to complete it alone and extend the range of my self-directional skills.
The most difficult thing about completing this task was gathering all of our photos and details and condensing them into understandable documentation of our project. It was hard to gather information from our weekly progress posts and convert it into our presentation. As well as presenting the whole of our presentation and our project in front of the class. However, we persevered through it and overcame these challenges.
I think that we could improve this work by being a little more specific with the slide that shows the steps already achieved. I think that the more specific we are, the better documented it is, so making it more detailed would be a good change.
This project relates to what I have learned in the past because it is common for us to do presentations and slideshows, so I was able to use the skill I am already comfortable with and apply it to this project.
I can apply this to future learning because the slides we made in this progress presentation will be extremely useful to our final presentation and product. We will be able to look back on what we learned and at what stage we were, and use it for reflection.
