Description
This reflection covers my Unit 1 quiz 2 in my Precalc class. This quiz went over our most recent classworks and it was a test of our knowledge. It was 20=1 points and we had a short class period to finish it.
Reflection
I feel that this quiz represents my thinking and problem solving skills because this quiz tested my knowledge to the point where I had to solve problems instead of just memorizing formulas. For example, included in this quiz were many word problems, which made me consider the question at hand and problem solve as to which route I could take to get the answer. This quiz developed my thinking and problem solving skills enough so that I could be successful on the upcoming test.
The most difficult thing about this test was teaching myself and studying the word problem portion. I have always struggled with word problems, so these took me a little longer to understand. However I am now satisfied of the thinking and problem solving work I put into understanding these word problems.
From this assignment I am most proud of the fact that I got 20/21 on a very challenging quiz. I feel that for the amount I studied for this quiz, I deserved the grade that I received.
If I could improve on this quiz, I would go back and be more careful with question and not rush as much. Because my one point off was a goofy mistake, I plan next time to manage my time better and go quickly through the questions but make sure to check my answers and stay level headed.
This relates to what I have learned in the past because a lot of the concepts on this quiz were concepts that I learned in Algebra 2 but they were just more in depth and complicated. To a certain degree the math felt familiar, however I still needed to study to get a refresher and learn the new concepts.
This relates to what I will learn in the future because unit 1 is the basis for the rest of the year, so having a good understanding of the core concepts in Precalc is crucial to succeed in the class.
