This is my Cell Analogy Project:
Reflections
Hello! In Biology for quarter 1, we did a cell analogy project. This Assignment is my Eukaryotic Cell Analogy project, and it called for us to define all the parts of a certain specialized cell, then come up with analogies for them, like the Golgi apparatus would be the post office. We had to make a poster, with all the definitions, and drawings of the analogies. I did a fungi cell, looks a lot like an island, then I described how all the things on an island correspond to a fungi cell. I made a poster and drew all my analogies, and on the back, I wrote some facts about fungi cells, and how they are unique.
I chose to share this sample on my portfolio because I am proud of the hard work that I put into this project. I am very proud of my drawings because those are what I spent the most time on. This was also a very hands-on and creative project that we had to research, so I assumed that it would be a good example of the kind of things we do at school. Overall this project was one of my favorites, and I wanted to show it.
I feel that this assignment addresses my Informational skills because I used all my resources to find the definitions, and understand all about the different parts of my fungi cell.
This work sample showcases my growth and abilities because I put a lot of effort into this project to make it look neat and understandable. Something that I might not have been as good at a few years ago. I am interested in this kind of learning, so I really went in-depth with the project.
I could improve this work by maybe researching a little more in-depth about exactly how fungi cells differ from regular cells. If I could start over, I would probably choose a different analogy other than an island.
